My name is Austin C. Mattson II, and I am a results oriented self-starter with 29 years of exceptional leadership performance in manufacturing operations and project management. I add value in manifesting the methods, processes and tactical delivery of corporate strategies and vision.  

I have worked over eleven years as a professional project manager, senior project manager, senior program manager, and most recently as an executive level project controls technical consultant for major capital (spanning smelters, refineries, ports, power, infrastructure etc.) projects at Alcoa. I am a project management subject matter expert, instructor and executive management consultant. I am pleased with my many accomplishments and most recently:

– Designed, developed and led the global implementation of the Alcoa Project Controls System
– Created and established new product development and R & D project management programs
– Successfully led project rescue of a $500 million strategic project.
– Appointed Secretary Projects Decision Review Board determining company capital project portfolio
– Developed and taught a well-received project management training curriculum

I have earned a Masters of Science in Project Management from George Washington University, and Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, and I am currently a PhD candidate in “Strategy, Program and Project Management.”

 I was also a Marine Corps officer, followed by eighteen years of progressive management experience in various manufacturing environments. As a General Manager in a fast-growing 420 million dollar company, with responsibilities over multiple factories, warehousing facilities, and 1200 plus employees, I was challenged with quick factory turnaround. In eleven months I delivered:

– Increased production output by 108%
– Improve manufacturing efficiencies from 70% to 90%
– Reduced cost of goods sold by 20%

I am currently looking for a SENIOR LEVEL PROJECT MANAGEMENT OR OPERATIONS POSITION in which I can utilize my progressive experience, training and proven skills to build a work group capable of reducing costs and increasing profitability and capital effectiveness. My expertise in project management, operations, executive level experience with top management and my excellent leadership skills make me uniquely qualified and versatile to fit a broad range of organizational senior positions.
